Remodeling Design/Build Process

When you partner with our Remodeling Division, we involve you every step of the way through your project’s progression. Below is a short overview of the design/build process you’ll go through with us.

1. First Meeting

Throughout the design process, you’ll meet with our Remodeling team in our showroom. At the first meeting we’ll present our ideas and work with you to ensure your home is designed to your exact specifications. We’ll then adjust your project’s proposal and plans to meet your needs, taste, and budget.

2. Design Process

We’ll meet you at your home to conduct a thorough evaluation of your remodeling project and get a better understanding of the size and scope of your needs. Feel free to share as many details as you’d like about the work you need done, how you might want it to look, and any other details our team may need to know. We’ll present you with a preliminary proposal based on these initial criteria.

3. Contract

Based on your plans, our legal team will draft your contract. After the contract is signed, if required we will apply for your building permit. This process can take several weeks depending on the municipality. In the meantime, you can still meet with our Remodeling team to finalize product and finishing selections. When we receive the building permit in hand, we can begin the construction in your home.

4. Preconstruction

Prior to the start of construction, we’ll set up a preconstruction meeting in your home where you’ll meet your Project Manager, who will be onsite daily managing the construction of your project. Your Project Manager will explain the construction process and be available to answer any questions you might have.

5. Construction Process

Our team will stay in contact with you throughout the construction process. Your Project Manager will also send you bi-weekly progress reports to keep you well informed of everything going on with your project’s construction. Feel free to request walkthroughs to see the work being done as your remodeling project continues.

6. Final Steps

With attention to detail, we will ensure that every aspect of your home’s remodeling project has been completed to your satisfaction. When the work is nearly complete, we’ll set up a final walk with you to review your home. At that time, we will create a punch list of items to be completed by your Project Manager prior to your project’s completion.
