Sonny Bonacio


Sonny started Bonacio Construction in 1988 as a small framing company and over the past 30 years he’s grown it into to an award-winning construction firm. Sonny oversees a talented team of over 150 artisans who all share his passion for top-tier work and creative approaches to new challenges. Sonny runs Bonacio Construction with precision and integrity, earning the trust and respect of his colleagues, clients, and competitors. Under his leadership, Bonacio Construction has become renowned for its quality craftsmanship.

Fun fact: Sonny loves to cook! He’s a master in the kitchen and at the grill where he makes ribs that are renowned by his family. Sonny also loves to spend time with his wife, Julie and their 3 children, Gianna, Will, and Luca. In the summers you can usually find them all riding his boat around their Lake George home.

Tony Bonacio

Director – Operations

Tony started working with his brother, Sonny in 1990, forming a landscape design and installation division within Bonacio Construction. After 10 successful years, Tony and Sonny decided to outsource the company’s landscape needs so that Tony could fully commit his time and energy to the management needs of our busy construction company. Tony’s primary focus is now on the day-to-day construction operations of Bonacio Construction and working with our project management team to deliver successful projects to our clients.

Fun fact: To say Tony is a dog lover is an understatement – he has 5 shih-tzus! When he’s not off playing with his pack of pups, he enjoys kayaking, spending time with his family, and visiting music venues in Nashville, TN.

Dustin Wetzel

Project Executive

Dustin began his construction career over 20 years ago with a small residential contractor in New Jersey before moving to Manhattan where he held senior level positions at some of the city’s largest and most respected general contracting firms. He joined the Bonacio Construction team as a Project Executive in early 2021 where he applies his extensive knowledge of the construction process to both commercial and residential projects.

Fun fact: Dustin loves winter sports, especially skiing! Most weekends in the winter you can find him in the Adirondacks skiing with his four-year-old son, Auggie.

Jim Chandler

Project Manager

Jim started his construction career in Colorado before making way to New York. He came on board to Bonacio Construction as a Project Manager in 2011, managing large-scale commercial and residential projects. Jim’s extensive experience makes him an expert on even the tiniest details. With careful attention and a comprehensive understanding of the building process, Jim delivers the highest quality projects to our clients.

Fun fact: When he’s offsite, Jim enjoys traveling, golf, and racquet sports.

Kevin Knobloch

Project Manager

Kevin began his career in construction on Long Island before moving up to the Capital Region and joining the Bonacio Construction team in 2019. As Project Manager, he brings his distinctive experience to both commercial and residential projects. Kevin is a pro at exceeding expectations, so you can be sure he’s looking out for your project’s best interests.

Fun fact: Kevin loves to work – no, really! In his free time, he enjoys building and working with his hands.

Russ DeRidder

Project Manager

Russ began his career in construction over 25 years ago. After training at Saratoga Votec (now WSWHE Boces), he moved on to become a foreman at a leading construction company before branching off on his own as a self-employed builder. When the opportunity arose to work in our growing Remodeling Division, Russ came on board in 2019 as a Project Manager for both commercial and residential projects. Known for his preciseness and attention to detail, Russ is a perfect fit for handling large-scale remodeling projects.

Fun fact: As of 2022, Russ has been a volunteer firefighter for 25 years! He currently serves as a Chief for the Galway Volunteer Fire Company and is a certified EMT. While his work and volunteering keep him busy, as a single father he always makes time for his 2 teenage daughters.

Tom Marola


Tom first worked as a laborer with Bonacio Construction in 2018 while completing his dual major in Business Analytics and Management Information Systems at LeMoyne College. After graduation, he was promoted to an estimator where he currently serves both commercial and residential clients during the preconstruction phases of their projects. Over the years working at Bonacio, Tom has been invested in providing housing for both low income and disabled members of the community, while working closely with RISE Housing and Support Services, Saratoga Springs Housing Authority, and Wellspring. Tom also works closely with SPAC assisting in future development and remodels of the existing grounds, and serves on the SPAC Junior Board Committee.

Fun fact: Tom is an avid skier and when he was 18, he drove across the country to ski some of the best mountains out west!

Michael Bannon

Lead Designer

Michael has been lending his design talents to Bonacio Construction projects since 2001. While he has an extensive background in both commercial and residential spaces, his specialty is kitchen design. Elegant functionality, high-end details, and exceptional cabinet design are the signatures of Michael’s custom designed kitchens.

Fun fact: Michael enjoys designing cabinets so much he started his own cabinet company!  The Signature Cabinet Group was created in 2016 with a shop in Wilton.

Mary Riddervold

Coordinator – Residential Selections

Mary joined the Bonacio Construction team as an Administrative Assistant in 2014. Her knack for design and attention to detail has since led her to the Residential Division where she is now the Coordinator of Residential Selections. Mary’s eye for color palettes, luxurious textures, and design perfection makes her a client favorite.

Fun fact: In her free time, Mary enjoys taking on remodeling projects in her new home and going for walks with her 2 beloved beagles – Charlie and Lily.

Diana Beyer

Residential Coordinator

Diana is another Le Moyne College graduate having studied marketing before entering the construction industry. She joined Bonacio Construction in 2015 and as the Residential Coordinator, she serves as the central hub of all the Residential Division’s operations. She keeps our team running efficiently, making sure everyone is on track and on time, and always keeps the lines of communication open for our clients.

Fun fact: Diana has been a spin instructor for over 25 years, long before it was trendy! That’s about the length of time SoulCycle and Peloton have been operating combined.

Amanda Barnes

Project Administrator

Amanda has been with our Remodeling Division since its creation in 2015. She works closely with the entire Remodeling workforce to help take our remodeling and renovation projects to the next level. Organization, teamwork, and ensuring projects are finished on time and in budget are how she stays on top of the game.

Fun fact: Amanda is a big traveler and has been to 40 of the 50 U.S. states! Since she grew up around motorcycles, that’s her favorite mode of transportation. She recently got her first BMW motorcycle and is a member of the Born Again Riders who organize many community outreach projects.

Tom F.

Site Supervisor

Soon after Tom joined the Bonacio Construction Residential Division in 2015, he became a client favorite. Tom knows how to bring the best out of any home building project thanks to his many years of experience, keen attention to detail, organizational skills, and detail-oriented eye. Plus, his friendly disposition makes it easy for Tom to work well with everyone on our job sites.

Fun fact: Tom is a big country music fan. In fact, he hasn’t missed a Countryfest at SPAC in 10 years!

Ryan D.

Site Supervisor

When Ryan joined Bonacio Construction’s Residential team in 2019, he’d already been in the construction industry for 20 years. Skilled, efficient, and experienced, Ryan knows the best ways to collaborate with his crew and subcontractors to provide our clients with homes of the very best quality.

Fun fact: Ryan is quite athletic! Back in college, he was even the captain of his school’s men’s lacrosse team.

Calvin B.

Site Supervisor

Calvin came on board to Bonacio Construction in 2011 and has been part of the Remodeling Division since its creation. He has the important role of working hand-in-hand with our subcontractors and crew to make sure our quality of work is top-notch. Due to his extensive experience, he’s also an excellent instructor. You can usually find him mentoring the younger members of the team and teaching them new skills.

Fun fact: Calvin’s favorite past time is being with his grandchildren. He also enjoys restoring old cars and riding snowmobiles.

Ryan W.

Site Supervisor

Ryan already had many years of construction experience when he joined Bonacio Construction’s Residential Division in 2015. He’s well-versed in handling large-scale home builds and the motivation he brings to his job sites make him an accomplished leader.

Fun fact: Ryan enjoys taking road trips with his family. Alongside his wife and 3 children, they’ve been all over NY!
